Want to spend Saturday, April 26, making a difference while having a great time outdoors? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us beautify the grounds and prepare the gardens at our treatment homes. Additionally, for those at our Maywood location, we’ll spend a few hours of the day doing our collective part at Maywood’s Village Pride Village Wide!
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
-
Helping to spruce up the grounds and make the spaces look amazing.
-
Preparing the gardens for planting and growth.
-
Lending a hand to support the community and spread positivity.
This is a fantastic chance to get outside, work as a team, and contribute to a meaningful cause—all while enjoying a day of fruitful fun! We’ll provide all the tools, guidance, and snacks to keep you energized.
On Sunday, April 27, we’ll be taking part in the Oak Park-River Forest Health & Wellness Fair, where we’ll be sharing important information about substance and gambling use disorders, and we’d love for you to join us as volunteers. Your energy and enthusiasm can help us connect with others – especially youth – in a meaningful way.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Assist attendees in taking the Gambling Use Survey to help us understand community needs.
-
Engage other young people in completing the youth survey to gather their anonymous perspectives.
-
Spread the message of “Don’t Bet Your Future” by encouraging peers to think about healthy choices.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain volunteer experience, make a positive impact, and have fun while working with your peers and community members. The Oak Park-River Forest Health & Wellness Fair is being held this year at the Park District of Oak Park’s Community Recreation Center. We’ll provide all the training and support you need!
